Bill Docking, Teulon, Manitoba
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

For the past 50 years, Bill Docking has worked ardently for the betterment of his community, particularly as a member of various hospital boards and health committees in Manitoba's Interlake Region. He also co-founded a volunteer transportation service for seniors and persons with disabilities, and helped to establish the Teulon and District Seniors' Resource Council, which provides social support to seniors. A dedicated volunteer driver, he has delivered Meals on Wheels as well as Christmas hampers for the Teulon and District Cheer Board. His work with Cancer Care Manitoba has also benefited many local cancer patients who rely on him for free transportation to their medical appointments in Winnipeg.
