Melissa Thompson is dedicated to giving individuals with intellectual disabilities the chance to enjoy sports, and developed Ottawa’s first Special Olympics Ontario–Greater Ottawa Powerlifting Club and 10-Pin Bowling Club. Since 2004, she has volunteered with 5-Pin Bowling, track and field and women's soccer, fostering inclusivity and skill development.
