A leading figure in corporate, securities and commercial law, he is Chairman of the Board of a major Canadian natural resource company and a successful businessman serving on the boards of numerous corporations. During his tenure with the Ontario Securities Commission, he played a pivotal role in implementing a policy statement to improve the rights and protection of corporate shareholders and investors. He also helped to establish Canada's first post-graduate law and business program at Osgoode Hall, and served on the boards of academic and health institutions.
