A musicologist and professor of music history for forty years, she was the first Francophone to write about music in Canada and her work paved the way for many researchers in this field. Her talents as a communicator and leader have been evident in her work with Youth and Music Canada, particularly as the person responsible for designing and developing the programming for its pavilion at Expo '67.
