University of Waterloo professor emerita Frances Westley is a leading trailblazer of social innovation. Her research has resulted in tangible methods to advance inter-organizational collaboration, address the needs of vulnerable populations, and strategize sustainable development in Canada. As the creator and leader of numerous national initiatives, notably the Waterloo Institute for Social Innovation and Resilience, she has transformed our understanding of how change is effected in the world, and has helped create a flourishing generation of leaders and social problem solvers.
