Triumphing over personal adversity, Percy Wickman is a well-known advocate for persons with disabilities. He has taken on leadership roles with a number of organizations, including the Alberta Committee of Action for the Disabled and the Handicapped Housing Society. In addition, he co-chaired the Canadian Organizing Committee for the International Year of Disabled Persons in 1981. With vision and commitment, this former Alberta MLA and city of Edmonton alderman served his community and helped advance the interests and rights of the disabled.
