A recognized authority on Canadian painting, this Montrealer has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for nearly thirty years and a member of the acquisitions committee of the National Gallery of Canada for some ten years. The quality of his personal collection and of the works of art he has donated to various institutions has established him as a man of considerable taste. His interest in the arts also extends to music and the theatre and his generosity is reflected in his support of a number of philanthropic organizations.
