A social worker and former member of the Québec steering committee of the "Guides catholicise", she founded, in 1959, the charity known as "Les Glaneuses", which she has directed ever since. Initially this organization provided temporary shelter to women and young girls; subsequently, the centre concentrated on collecting clothing and household articles for distribution to the less fortunate in the Montreal area.
