Painter, critic, collector and promoter of Eskimo sculpture. He has been Curator of the Saskatchewan Art Centre, Director of the Winnipeg Art Gallery and is now semi-retired as Professor of Canadian Studies and Art History at Carleton University, devoting much of his time to Eskimo art.
