Larry Tanenbaum is an influential figure in Canadian sport and a philanthropic visionary. He was an active force behind the acquisition of the Toronto Raptors basketball franchise and the Air Canada Centre which, with the Toronto Maple Leafs, now form Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Limited, where he serves as chairman. A strong proponent and generous supporter of medical research in Canada, he co-founded the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute and has also created several programs in support of scientific research. He is also actively involved with numerous health care and charitable organizations at the local and national levels.
