Lenoard Taft, M.B.
Medal of Bravery
On July 3, 2010, Lenoard Taft rescued a suicidal woman who had jumped into a fire, in Colborne, Ontario. From his yard, Mr. Taft noticed a lot of smoke coming from his neighbour's property and went to investigate. He saw a huge pile of branches and debris on fire and a woman standing next to it. As he approached, she jumped into the blaze. Without a thought for his own safety, Mr. Taft quickly pulled her out and used his hands and sand to put out the flames. He then brought her to his house and waited for the ambulance to arrive. Thanks to his brave actions, the woman survived.
