Grey Coach bus driver Gregory Dixon disarmed a hijacker in Brampton, Ontario, on April 10, 1989. While on route to Owen Sound, Mr. Dixon noticed that a man was holding the woman passenger next to him hostage with a gun in her ribs. The driver stopped the bus and tried to calm the passengers as well as the hijacker, who was yelling for everyone to go to the back of the bus. As the hostage began to move, the driver jumped on the armed man, took the gun from him, frisked him and held him down in the floor well. While another passenger held the man, Mr. Dixon drove the bus into the middle of the highway to attract the attention of the authorities and delivered the hijacker to them upon their arrival.
