Arms of Peter Gould McAuslanBlazonAzure a griffin’s head erased, a chief Argent semé of hop flowers Vert; SymbolismBlue and white are the colours of Scotland, the McAuslan ancestral home, as well as those of Quebec with its great rivers and rapids, where Mr. McAuslan’s ancestors settled and prospered. As a guardian of treasures, the griffin represents the will to protect what we value. The green hops symbolize hope and reflect the motto. The rivers, griffin and hops also refer to the brewers’ trade and to the McAuslan Brewery in Montréal, which was founded by Mr. McAuslan. |
