Arms of Paul EgesborgBlazonOr a red oak leaf, a chief enarched embattled Azure; SymbolismThe oak leaf and crenellations refer to the name Egesborg, which means “oak castle” in Danish. Blue and gold, the colours of the state arms of Denmark and of the French monarchy, recall Mr. Egesborg’s family roots, while the northern red oak leaf is indicative of the rooting of his family in Canada. |
CrestBlazonA lion passant Azure, its tail terminating in a heart, holding a spray of blue flag flowers Or; SymbolismThe lion and the heart are inspired by the Arms of Denmark, the country of origin of Mr. Egesborg’s grandfather. The spray of blue flag, Quebec’s floral emblem, represents the three French-Canadian families (Fleurant, Dubuc and Allard) which have married into the Egesborg line over the generations. The flowers in the lion’s paw also symbolize the florist profession of Mr. Egesborg’s parents. |

Badge of Paul EgesborgBlazonA compass rose Azure and Or charged with an escutcheon of the Arms and surmounting two concentric annulets, its sinister arm terminating in an Algiz rune Azure; SymbolismThe compass rose alludes to Mr. Egesborg’s profession as a land surveyor. It is the signature he uses for his carpentry work. The spoke pointing east, which bears the “Algiz” character found on certain rune stones, is a further reminder of his family’s Scandinavian origins. |
