Her Excellency participated in a virtual event at Mount Allison University as part of the ‘Nation to Nation: Building Indigenous knowledge across international borders’ initiative.
Background
Four Canadian universities known as the Maple League (Acadia, Bishop’s, Mount Allison and St. Francis Xavier universities) are coming together to provide a short-term, study abroad experience in Belize, through Galen University. Students will travel to Belize for two weeks where they will be sharing their Indigenous experiences and learning about other Indigenous cultures.
The students will also meet with Her Excellency Froyla Tzalam, Governor General of Belize, who is also Indigenous (Mopan Maya).
