Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will be presented with the first poppy of the National Poppy Campaign during a ceremony at Rideau Hall.

Shelagh Grant was more than a historian. She was a visionary who understood that in order to look to a brighter future and in order to improve lives today, we need to have a good grasp of history.

Members of the public are invited to join in the fun and frights of Rideau HALLoween. This year's theme is creepy creatures, where animals of all kinds come out at sunset to torment those who try to leave the grounds of Rideau Hall.

Every year, we use this time to honour those who have served our country in uniform, to recognize our veterans who sacrificed so much for our nation, and to remember the fallen—those who never made it home.

Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Whit Fraser will visit Prince Edward Island’s North Shore on Sunday, October 30, 2022, to observe first-hand the damage and devastation caused by Hurricane Fiona.

Today, Whit and I visited communities in Prince Edward Island to see the damage and devastation caused by last month’s Hurricane Fiona. Our hearts go out to the residents of Prince Edward Island, and to all those in Atlantic Canada dealing with the aftermath of this disaster.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, will invest 2 Companions (C.C.), 14 Officers (O.C.) and 28 Members (C.M.) into the Order of Canada during a ceremony at Rideau Hall.

It’s with the greatest pleasure that I welcome you to Rideau Hall for this investiture of the Order of Canada, our country’s highest civilian honour.
