I’m delighted to be here at the opening of the “Our Land, Our Art” exhibit at the Canadian Museum of Nature.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, will invest 2 Companions (C.C.), 14 Officers (O.C.) and 28 Members (C.M.) into the Order of Canada during a ceremony at Rideau Hall.

It’s with the greatest pleasure that I welcome you to Rideau Hall for this investiture of the Order of Canada, our country’s highest civilian honour.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, will present Canada’s top history honours to outstanding Canadians during a ceremony taking place at the historic Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle of Québec.

As commander-in-chief, Governor General Mary Simon will receive military honours from the Royal 22e Régiment at the Citadelle. She will inspect a guard of honour and there will be a 21-gun salute.

Members of the media are invited to the Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle of Québec to cover a presentation of credentials of seven new heads of mission to Canada.

The History Awards honour those who tell our stories—all our stories—and who are having the hard, but necessary conversations, particularly with young people.
