Blazon

Quarterly, 1st and 4th Gules three lions passant guardant in pale Or, 2nd Or a lion rampant within a double tressure flory-counter-flory Gules, 3rd Azure a harp Or stringed Argent, all debruised of a three-point label Argent the central point charged with a cross Gules the dexter and sinister points charged with a fleur-de-lis Azure, overall an inescutcheon barry of ten Or and Sable charged with a crancelin Vert;

The Arms are shown ensigned by the coronet of a younger child of the Sovereign;

Symbolism

This is a differenced version of the royal arms of the United Kingdom, indicating that the Duke of Connaught was a son of Queen Victoria. The first and fourth quarters display the arms of England, the second those of Scotland, and the third those of Ireland. The shield in the centre depicts the arms of the Kingdom of Saxony borne by his father, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. The white label with charges on it is used as a mark of differencing within the Royal Family; the Duke’s label uses a cross of St. George and two fleurs-de-lis.
