Or on a fess wavy Azure between three thistles proper, a salmon naiant Argent;

Symbolism

The thistles, an emblem of Scotland, represent the Scottish heritage of Nova Scotia, whose names means “New Scotland”. The salmon represents the importance of the fishing industry to the province.
