Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Whit Fraser were excited for the public to attend a brief ceremony and officially launch the skating season.
Building on the 150-year tradition of skating at Rideau Hall, the new refrigerated surface extends the skating season and provides reliable ice for community skating and special programming.
While today is about preserving the history of the rink, today is also about building for the future.
