Governor General welcomes new heads of mission to Canada at the Citadelle of Québec

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, welcomed seven new heads of mission to Canada during a ceremony at the Residence of the Governor General at the Citadelle of Québec.

During the ceremony, the following new heads of mission presented their credentials to the Governor General:

His Excellency Sergiu Odainic
Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova

His Excellency Olaf Andreas Kjelsen
Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation

His Excellency Lim Woongsoon
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea

His Excellency Keith Linden George
High Commissioner of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana

His Excellency Joska Kabongo Ngoy
Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

His Excellency Shri Sanjay Kumar Verma
High Commissioner of the Republic of India

His Excellency Agron Buxhaku
Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia

Upon their arrival in Canada, new heads of mission must present their letters of credence to the governor general before they can carry out their duties. Letters of credence are the official documents that accredit a diplomat as an ambassador or high commissioner to another country.
