Welcome to Rideau Hall and congratulations to all those being invested and those being promoted into the Order of Merit of the Police Forces.

You are all here in Canada to answer one, overarching question: how can we work together to make our countries, and this world, a better place?

Today, we learn your stories. And your stories are as unique as your contributions to a wide variety of different fields.

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the accomplishments of women here in Canada and around the world. In every field and industry, women are contributing. They are innovators, champions, advocates, artists, entrepreneurs, public servants and more.

It’s wonderful to see representatives from so many different nations and peoples here with us today.

And so I am honoured that today, we get to share your stories, stories of amazing people.
