As the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games come to a close, I would like to congratulate our athletes for making our country proud.

“On August 9, we commemorate the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. It marks the day of the first meeting of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations in 1982."

OTTAWA, Ontario – “Growing up, my family lived off the land for many months of the year. We travelled by dog team or boat. We hunted, fished and gathered food. And my parents taught me how to live in two worlds: the Inuit world and the non-Inuit world.

I am pleased to extend my greetings to those who, from coast to coast to coast and around the world, are celebrating National Acadian Day.
