Visit to Newfoundland and Labrador - September 21, 2018
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, undertook an official visit to Newfoundland and Labrador from September 20-21, 2018.
On September 21, 2018, Her Excellency started her day in Happy Valley-Goose Bay with a visit to 5 Wing Goose Bay.

Her Honour the Honourable Judy Foote, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, alongside the commander of the base, Lieutenant-Colonel Stéphane Racle, also participated in the familiarization flight.

At 5 Wing Goose Bay, Her Excellency took part in a familiarization flight on board a CH-146 Griffon helicopter.

The Birch Island Boardwalk was built in partnership with the city of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and a not-for-profit organization called Healthy Waters Labrador.

Later in the afternoon, the Governor General joined the Mayor of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, youth and volunteers on a walk along the new Birch Island Boardwalk.
