Royal Canadian Logistics Service 50th Anniversary Parade
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, attended the commemoration parade of the Royal Canadian Logistics Service on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, on October 16, 2018. In honour of this anniversary, a Hercules conducted a fly past over the east and centre block buildings of Parliament.

Upon her arrival, she received military honours, including a Royal salute and a 21-gun salute.

She then proceeded with the inspection of a 100-person guard of honour.

During the inspection, she stopped on several occasions to speak with members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

On the top left corner is the Royal Canadian Logistics Service flag/pennant that travelled more than 87,000 km – a distance greater than going twice around the world at the Equator.

The Governor General addressed the serving and retired logistics members from across all elements of both the Regular and Reserve Forces, and from all regions of Canada. She also congratulated the Branch on receiving its Royal designation from Her Majesty The Queen, making it the Royal Canadian Logistics Service.
