Visit to the United States - Day 8

On May 31, 2016, His Excellency, joined by Mrs. Marcy Grossman, Consul General of Canada in Denver, visited the NAFSA: Association of International Educators Annual Conference and Expo.

Upon arrival, he toured the Canadian university booths on display.

For the inauguration of the Canada Pavilion, he delivered remarks. The Pavilion acts as a window on Canadian education and a meeting space for Canadian representatives from all provinces.

NAFSA’s annual conference provides a multitude of educational offerings for international education professionals at all levels of experience and in every specialty. This year’s theme is “Building Capacity for Global Learning.” With more than 10 000 members, NAFSA is the world’s largest non-profit association dedicated to international education.

Following the inauguration ceremony, he met with Mrs. Marlene Johnson, President of NAFSA.

His Excellency concluded his visit to the United States with a meeting with the Honourable John Hickenlooper, Governor of Colorado.

They discussed Canada-Colorado relations and the strengthening of partnerships with Colorado’s influencers and decision makers.

The meeting was held at the State Capitol of Colorado in Denver.
