NORAD, which is responsible for securing North American air space, has its headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base and Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. There are 147 Canadian military personnel stationed at the NORAD headquarters, giving Colorado Springs the largest presence of Canadian military in the state.
