Rideau Hall Movie Nights

"We’re so fortunate that this country is home to some of the world’s great filmmakers, actors and producers—talented people who are sharing Canadian perspectives and telling Canadian stories," said the Governor General.

Before the screening, actor and director Paul Gross and producer Niv Fichman were on hand to talk about the making of Passchendaele

Director Paul Gross was invested officer of the Order of Canada on February 13, 2015 for his contributions to Canadian film and television, as an actor, writer and director.

Hosted by the Governor General, Rideau Hall Movie Nights featured acclaimed English and French Canadian films, screened on alternate nights, on the grounds of Rideau Hall.

Members of the public settled in with some free popcorn, and watched these films under the night sky.

Before the screening, La Passion d’Augustine producers Lyse Lafontaine and François Tremblay, as well as actors Andrée Lachapelle, Danielle Fichaud and Élizabeth Tremblay-Gagnon, discussed their movie.

Director Léa Pool was invested as Member of the Order of Canada for her achievements as a director and screenwriter of films that have earned her international renown.
