Artwork Dedication at Garrison Petawawa

The artworks will offer a calm and peaceful environment, two elements that contribue to the healing process.

Upon arrival at Garrison Petawawa, Her Excellency Sharon Johnston was greeted by Mrs. Sandra Rotman (right), spouse of the late Joseph Rotman, Chair of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Mrs. Johnston attended the unveiling of an installation of artworks by the Canada Council Art Bank in memory of Joseph Rotman. She delivered remarks on this occasion.

Mrs. Johnston added her own contribution to the artworks by donating a painting to Colonel Blais

Mr. Simon Brault, Director and CEO of the Canada Council for the Arts, also delivered a speech.

Joined by Mrs. Rotman, Mrs. Johnston unveiled the plaque. The artworks are installed in the Joint Personnel Support Unit Eastern Ontario Regional Headquarters and the Integrated Personnel Support Centre of Garrison Petawawa.

Following the unveiling, Mrs. Johnston met with members from the Joint Personnel Support Unit Eastern Ontario Regional Headquarters and the Integrated Personnel Support Centre of Garrison Petawawa.

Before leaving, she visited the monument erected in memory of the Canadian soldiers who died in combat in Afghanistan.
