Visit to Quebec's North Shore - Day 1
Their Excellencies concluded their visit to Baie-Comeau with a tour of the Daniel-Johnson Dam and Manic-5 Generating Station.

After the meeting, Their Excellencies signed the city’s guest book.

Tue, 09/30/2014 - 12:00 Sgt Ronald Duchesne, Rideau Hall GG2014-0318-002In the afternoon, Their Excellencies proceeded to Les Buissons Research Centre (CRLB), which has led a genetic improvement program for potatoes since 1987. Since its creation, the centre has produced more than 15 varieties of potatoes, including Envol, which is found in Canada and the United States. The centre also conducts potato variety trials in Cuba, Brazil and Uruguay in order to test their disease resistance.
