Visit to Montréal

Through several programs, Exeko helps their clients integrate critical thinking into their everyday life, become active members of society, and discover a source of hope for the future.

Their Excellencies toured the 31,000 square feet greenhouse and had the chance to learn about the company's activities and products.

In 2011, Lufa Farms created the world’s first commercial-scale rooftop hydroponic greenhouse farm located on top of an industrial building in northeast Montreal.

Later that afternoon, Their Excellencies made their way to Lufa Farms, a Quebec-based urban farming enterprise that grows fresh vegetables in greenhouses located in cities and specializes in new agricultural technologies in urban zones.

In the morning, Her Excellency visit Le Mûrier, a charity organization that works with people living with mental illness.

Their Excellencies were invited to hop on the idAction Mobile, a citizen education program caravan for homeless inidividuals living in Montréal.

Aboard their vehicule, Exeko provides books, newspapers, sketchbooks, and pencils to ensure access to knowledge and current events.

Their Excellencies then visited Exeko, a charity based in Montreal whose goal is to promote inclusion and development of the marginalized individuals through innovation in culture and education.

During her visit, Her Excellency had the opportunity to speak with clients who frequent Le Mûrier and who are enrolled in the "Cuisinons ensemble" (Cooking together) program, which offers culinary workshops at home.

Following the tour, a discussion on how to change the way cities eat through innovation and technology took place with Lufa Farms representatives and various stakeholders.
