That evening, Their Excellencies paid their respects to the victims of the November 2008 terrorist attack that occurred at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. In front of the memorial plaque and the symbolic tree that survived the attack and subsequent fire, they laid flowers and lit candles.

In the morning, Her Excellency visited Sneha Care Home and Shining Star School in Bangalore. Sneha is a support and care center for pre-adolescent children with HIV and children orphaned or abandoned as a result of HIV/AIDS in their families.
