Order of Military Merit Investiture Ceremony

His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, presided over an Order of Military Merit investiture ceremony at Rideau Hall on November 7, 2014. He bestowed the honour on 50 recipients.

The Governor General and the Chief of the Defence Staff are pictured with the 50 recipients.

General Tom Lawson, Chief of the Defence Staff, also spoke during this ceremony.

"Next week we will be celebrating Remembrance Day," said the Governor General. "We must never forget those who have fallen and been wounded in the line of duty, and your consistent willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty is perhaps the greatest tribute you can pay to those who went before you."

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Chief Warrant Officer Jean-Claude Sénécal, M.M.M., C.D., 4th Air Defence Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery Oromocto, New Brunswick.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Warrant Officer Melinda Pearson, M.M.M., C.D., 32 Canadian Brigade Group Headquarters, Toronto, Ontario.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Sergeant Christopher Kataquapit, M.M.M., 3rd Canadian Ranger Patrol Group, Borden, Ontario.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Master Warrant Officer Michael Jackson, M.M.M., M.M.V., C.D., 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, Shilo, Manitoba.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Member level (M.M.M.) to Master Warrant Officer Chantale Gagnon, M.M.M., C.D., 2 Canadian Division Headquarters, Montréal, Quebec.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Officer level (O.M.M.) to Colonel James Taylor, O.M.M., C.D., Canadian Forces Health Services Group Headquarters, Ottawa, Ontario.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Officer level (O.M.M.) to Commander Patrick Montgomery, O.M.M., C.D., Canadian Fleet Pacific Headquarters, Victoria, British Columbia.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Officer level (O.M.M.) to Major Charles Côté, O.M.M., C.D., North American Aerospace Defence Command Outside Canada, Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States of America.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Commander level (C.M.M.) to Major-General David Millar, C.M.M., C.D., Chief of Military Personnel, Ottawa, Ontario. This is a promotion within the Order.

His Excellency presented the Order of Military Merit at the Commander level (C.M.M.) to Major-General Richard Foster, C.M.M., C.D., Office of the Chief of the Air Force Staff, Ottawa, Ontario.
