Meeting with Members of the National Sentry Program
Upon their arrival at Plaza Barracks, Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, met with Padre Andrew Love (left) and Colour Sergeant Tim Perry, Office of Primary Interest for National Sentry Program (right).

The Governor General offered his condolences to the 20 sentries for the lost of their comrade-in-arms Corporal Nathan Cirillo, who was killed in the line of duty at the National War Memorial, in Ottawa, on October 22, 2014. He also thanked them for their dedicated service.

Following the meeting, Their Excellencies proceeded to the National War Memorial to observe the day’s first posting of the sentries at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
