To date, Community Foundation of the South Okanagan/Similkameen and the United Way of Central and South Okanagan/Similkameen have engaged a researcher who spent months consulting local youth to develop a strategy for better engaging with youth and for meeting their needs. The launch of the Teen Esteem Project is be the public unveiling of the research findings and strategy.

His Excellency later delivered remarks and participated in a discussion at the launch of the Teen Esteem Project, a new joint initiative between the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan/Similkameen and the United Way of Central and South Okanagan/Similkameen.

The Teen Esteem Project will focus on tackling issues around the needs of teens in the community, and will help the community to learn more about how it can help foster healthy self-esteem in teens.
