Visit to Canada by the Governor-General of Australia
Their Excellencies hosted at Rideau Hall Their Excellencies Ms. Quentin Bryce, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and Mr. Michael Bryce, during their stay in Ottawa, from April 4 to 6, 2013.

Besides coming to Ottawa, the Governor-General of Australia and Mr. Bryce are visiting Vancouver and Iqaluit during their stay in Canada.

His Excellency had the chance to meet his Australian counterpart while overseas on other occasions. They were in London last June to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and, most recently, in Seoul to attend the inauguration of Park Geun-hye, South Korea’s first female president.

On this occasion, both governors general met to discuss linkages between both nations and their role as representatives of Her Majesty The Queen.

A dinner was held at Rideau Hall later that evening. "As close friends and partners in the Commonwealth, the people of Canada and of Australia have a great deal in common," said His Excellency. "This is clearly seen in our histories, our institutions and in the many ties we share in the spheres of business, culture and education, to name a few."
