His Excellency met with students and teachers leading Pocket Change Heroes, a campaign aimed at raising money to build schools in Africa through Free the Children, an international charitable and educational organization. His Excellency visited Vaughan Road Academy, a Toronto District School Board school, in the Oakwood-Vaughan neighbourhood. The school is recognized for its student and teacher involvement in important social issues. The governor general was greeted by the principal, Mr. Joseph Santalucia (left).
