Her Excellency Sharon Johnston interacted with students involved in the Art Connect Program at Success Laventille High School, which fosters self-empowerment among youths in the under privileged community of Laventille through the creation of a series of artistic activities. Upon her arrival, the national anthems for Canada and Trinidad and Tobago were played.

Her Excellency visited Naparima Girls College as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. The school has strong links with Canada as it was started by a Canadian Presbyterian minister, Reverend Fultin Coffin. She also delivered an address on the importance of leadership to all students.
