Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston attended the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Canadian Sunset Ceremonies in Ottawa on June 28, 2012.

During the ceremonies, the Governor General and RCMP Commissioner witnessed the unveiling of the Ensign and badge of the Aboriginal Policing Services.

Crowds were entertained by the aerial maneuvers conducted by the Canadian Forcs Parachute Team the SkyHawks.

Since 1988, the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies are an annual event, offering the RCMP a way of thanking the community for its support, as well as means of providing the public with an opportunity to see the Musical Ride.
