Dedication of the Diamond Jubilee Window
Following the dedication ceremony, the Governor General and Mrs. Sharon Johnston met with the girls of Christ Church Cathedral Girls' Choir.

The window is a gift to Her Majesty The Queen from the Senate of Canada. The Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, welcomed the guests to the ceremony.

"I would like to commend the artists of this stained glass window, which was officially unveiled by Her Majesty during her visit to Canada in 2010. The images and colours perfectly capture the important role the monarchy, and in particular these two monarchs, have played in our country’s evolution. (...) Let it be a reminder of the dedication to duty and service long held by these two queens, as well as an inspiration to those who serve Canadians," said the Governor General in his remarks.

The Diamond Jubilee window was created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is located over the Senate entrance to the Parliament Buildings.
