Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony

As patron of the COC, His Excellency honoured the excellence of our Canadian athletes in his speech: “Just reaching the Olympics—let alone winning a medal or being inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame—is a truly remarkable accomplishment. This level of excellence is rare, and I am always fascinated to hear from athletes themselves about what it takes to be an Olympian.”

Upon their arrival at the Air Canada Centre, in Toronto, Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston were greeted by Mr. Marcel Aubut, President of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC).

Olympians received a warm applause from the audience for their great performances at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony is the COC’s most prestigious annual event during which Olympic heroes are honoured and Olympic legends are inducted. The event also serves at the official ‘Welcome Home’ celebration for the Canadian Olympic Team following the Games.

The Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony was hosted by CTV ETalk Anchor Mr. Ben Mulroney and Olympian Ms. Catriona Lemay Doan.

COC President offered worlds of welcome to Canadian athletes and guests. The COC leads the achievement of the Canadian Olympic Team’s podium success and advances Olympic values in Canada. It delivers resources that Canada’s elite athletes need to perform at their best and to give their everything every day.
