Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston were attended the "Celebrate Me Home" Musical Tribute in Kitchener organized by the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada.

The "Celebrate Me Home" Musical Tribute honours members of the Canadian Forces throughout the Waterloo Region who served in Afghanistan, as well as the sacrifices made by their families.

Following the musical tribute, the Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada participated in the unveiling of the Portraits of Honour mural. The hand-painted mural by Cambridge artist David Sopha (right) includes a portrait of every Canadian soldier who died as a result of his or her service in Afghanistan. In early June, the mural is scheduled to embark on a cross-Canada tour with stops in the hometowns of each of the 155 fallen soldiers.
