His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, conducted a one-day visit to the Eastern Townships of Quebec during which he met with His Worship Bernard Sévigny, Mayor of Sherbrooke.

The Adaptive Sports Foundation is a registered, non-profit, charitable organization founded in 1995. Its mission is to establish, operate and maintain educational programs that encourage physically disabled children and adults to discover new abilities through alpine skiing and water sports.

In the afternoon, Their Excellencies travelled to Owl’s Head ski resort, where they were wlecomed by staff from the Adaptive Sports Foundation, is a charitable organization specializing in offering adaptive ski programs for children and adults with disabilities, as well as participants from the Soldier On program. On this occasion, the Governor General delivered remarks.
