Order of Merit of the Police Forces Investiture Ceremony

His Excellency and Commissioner Elliott are pictured with the 43 recipients who were invested into the Order of Merit of the Police Forces on June 8, 2011.

The Governor General invested seven Officers and 36 Members into the Order of Merit of the Police Forces on the 10th anniversary of its creation. "For the past 10 years, the Order of Merit of the Police Forces has honoured those who have shown leadership and displayed exceptional service or distinctive merit with Canadian police forces," said His Excellency. "Those of you here today have maintained order and saved lives. The discipline and loyalty you have shown to your police service, to your community and to Canada are exceptional."

William J.S. Elliott, Commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Principal Commander of the Order, also spoke during this event.

His Excellency presented the Order of Merit of the Police Forces at the Officer level (O.O.M.) to Assistant Commissioner Line Carbonneau, O.O.M., of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Westmount, Quebec.

His Excellency presented the Order of Merit of the Police Forces at the Officer level (O.O.M.) to Chief A. Paul Smith, O.O.M., of the Charlottetown Police Services, Prince Edward Island.

His Excellency presented the Order of Merit of the Police Forces at the Member level (M.O.M.) to Chief Glenn De Caire, M.O.M., of the Hamilton Police Service, Ontario.

His Excellency presented the Order of Merit of the Police Forces at the Member level (M.O.M.) to Ms. Kristine Kijewski, M.O.M., of the Toronto Police Service, Ontario.

His Excellency presented the Order of Merit of the Police Forces at the Member level (M.O.M.) to Staff Sergeant Stéphane St-Jacques, M.O.M., of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ottawa, Ontario.
