2011 Royal Tour - Official Departure Ceremony from Alberta and Canada
The province of Alberta and the Government of Canada hosted a ceremony to bid farewell to Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston attended the ceremony which took place at Calgary Rotary Challenger Park.

Their Royal Highnesses, accompanied by Their Excellencies, proceeded to the Kin Canada mural, Portraits of Honour, which features a portrait of every Canadian soldier who died during his or her service in Afghanistan. As commander-in-chief of Canada, His Excellency provided an overview of the significance of the mural and invited Their Royal Highnesses to lay a wreath.

As part of this farewell ceremony, His Royal Highness also received full military honours, including a 21-gun salute.
