It is with great pride that the Governor General declared the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games open.

A few hours before the official opening of the Paralympic Games, the Governor General met with athletes from the Canadian Paralympic Sledge Hockey Team and the Canadian Paralympic Curling Team at the Vancouver Olympic Village.
