Mosaika Show on Parliament Hill

Mosaika: Canada through the eyes of its people is a new 30-minute experience which uses spectacular lighting effects, stunning image projections and a rich tapestry of words, music and sounds to tell the story of Canada with a powerful narrative set against the spectacular backdrop of the Peace Tower and the Centre Block on Parliament Hill. It is presented free of charge evenings until September 12, 2010, and for the next four summers.

Chief Executive Officer of the National Capital Commission Marie Lemay welcomed on Parliament Hill Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and over 130 enthusiastic youth leaders from the National Capital Region who participated earlier during the day to a Governor General's Youth Dialogue at Rideau Hall. During the dialogue, youth, local public officials, business leaders and NCC representatives discussed the importance of empowering youth. The aim was to encourage youth to contribute to a more inspiring, youth-friendly and inclusive National Capital Region. This event was held to launch the United Nations International Year of Youth.

Governor General's Youth Dialogue participant Isabelle Sabourin shared with the general public gathered on Parliament Hill before the projection of the NCC's Mosaika Sound and Light Show the important subjects that were discussed during the dialogue.

Her Excellency delivered brief remarks to youth and the general public on the importance of the International Year of Youth.

The Governor General and the youth then watched the NCC's Sound and Light Show Mosaika on Parliament Hill.
