International Donors’ Conference for Haiti
Her Excellencies met with Bill Clinton, former US President and UN Special Envoy for Haiti, and René Préval, President of Haiti.

At the request of the Prime Minister of Canada, the Governor General attended the International Donors’ Conference towards a new future for Haiti, in New York, on March 31, 2010.

The Governor General was present as an observer at this event, which was organized by the United States and the United Nations, in co-operation with the Government of Haiti.

Her Excellency went to the Republic of Haiti in 2006 for the installation of President Préval. Since January 2009, she has undertaken two important working visits to Haiti. Her latest took place on March 8 and 9, 2010, following the January 12, 2010, earthquake.
