Concert in the Tent Room
During major events, fabric was draped on the otherwise bare walls and ceiling, giving the room the appearance of a tent. The room’s style remains unchanged to this day. It is used as a venue for official events and for arts exhibits.

Following a major rehabilitation project carried out by the National Capital Commission (NCC), a private concert was held in the Tent Room at Rideau Hall, the governor general’s official residence in Ottawa.

The concert featured musicians from the NAC Summer Music Institute. In attendance were the Order of Canada recipients who were invested earlier in the day.

The Tent Room at Rideau Hall was constructed in 1876 as an indoor tennis court. Large receptions and dinners were also held there.
