On April 1, 2010, the Governor General marked the Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil Month at Rideau Hall. The daffodil is a symbol of hope in the fight against cancer.

Emily was the first to offer her bouquet of daffodils to Her Excellency in front of Mr. Steve Whitehead from the Canadian Cancer Society.

It was then Anthony's turn to present his bouquet to the Governor General. During Daffodil Month, thousands of volunteers will raise funds in the hope of eliminating cancer. These funds will support the most promising cancer research being done in Canada, will provide services to people living with cancer and will also raise awareness about cancer prevention.
